It is often difficult to duplicate the comforts of home, especially when roughing it out in the wilderness with nothing but a rundown tent and a sleeping bag. Most hikers and camping enthusiasts have to deal with the small inconveniences that the outdoors bring, and have even come to accept that it is all part of the lifestyle. But not all are intent on going through these experiences for the sake of enjoying the outdoors, so they choose to spend it inside a recreational vehicle instead.

A recreational vehicle or RV, as the name suggests, is a vehicle primarily used as a mobile home. They are the best vehicles for camping and touring. The RV is convenient for these activities because it is equipped with living space and sufficient amenities to render it not only suitable, but also comfortable for habitation.

But while RVs are predominantly used as temporary lodging, there are a growing number of people who use RVs for full-time living. People usually take part in this lifestyle for individual reasons: some enjoy the traveling, gypsy-like lifestyle, while others do it out of necessity for work. Still, others do it as a cheaper alternative to conventional living.

This is clearly seen with the rise of BC RV sales in the past few years, coinciding with the downturn of the economy due to real estate. When most homes had foreclosure written all over them, mobile homes and RVs became an ideal option for those who couldn’t afford or were forcefully evicted from permanent homes. Not only were they cheaper to purchase, but the overall living expenses incurred over a long time were also comparatively less than those of houses and apartments.

The price of an RV usually depends on its size and number of amenities it has. When choosing an RV, a buyer should consider budget limitations, the number of occupants, and desired lifestyle in making an appropriate selection. Most BC RV dealers have salesmen that can help a buyer decide which one to pick, and they usually have a wide assortment of RV models to choose from.

There are plenty of RV dealers who sell new and pre-owned RVs in North America, not just the United States. In Canada, one of the provinces with the biggest RV consumption is RV British Columbia, so finding a good dealer there wouldn’t be a problem.
